Place and Beyond

Datz Museum of Art, Seoul, South Korea
April 30 - August 31, 2021

Book exhibition Place and Beyond, composed of recent Datz’s publications was held at the D’Ark Room in Guui-dong, Seoul. Along the process of contemplating life and weaving it into a single book, there are poems derived from the boundaries of the inside and the outside, the reality and the idea. The exhibition invited the viewer to the time and space of artists who may stand in the present, but imagine the beyond.

The book exhibition began in D’Front Space and showcased Longitude by Katherine Yungmee Kim and Only the River Remains by Jane Baldwin, which told the stories of intertwined boundaries between personal incidents and specific places.

The show continued to the D’Ark Room, located in the basement of Datz Museum of Art, as a place of spirituality where the internal world of artistic intuition welcomes another universe constructed within. Constellations by Linda Connor, sun, water, being by Bryant Austin, SODO by Phyllis Galembo, Offerings by Mary Daniel Hobson, and Sea of Clouds by Barbara Bosworth were on view along with their photographs. Here to Stay by Yoonsuk Kim, and Her and My Parabola by Min Kyung were also featured in the exhibition.
